PSHE at Norton Fitzwarren Church School

The intent of PSHE at Norton Fitzwarren is to provide our pupils with the skills and attributes needed to thrive in the modern world. Through a biweekly, year group approach to teaching, the children receive a year-specific, targeted approach to the subject, focusing on building their subject knowledge and broadening their understanding of the world around them. We follow the National Curriculum, and use SCARF to assist planning. Their learning is recorded in floorbooks and the onus of sessions is around discussion and collaboration. Every child is encouraged to 'Talk like a Citizen' to develop their Oracy skills, and we use Flashback4s to ensure learning is embedded and revisited.
