Welcome to Maple Class Page
We are a mixed Year 5/6 class.
Mrs Carrington is our class teacher.
We are supported by Mrs Goodwin (Monday and Tuesday) and Mrs Hinchliffe (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday).
Mrs Hinchliffe teaches us on Thursday afternoons.

We have PE every Thursday for the rest of the year.
Homework
We have changed our homework expectations this year.
Children have a set amount to practise on TTRockStars and EdShed. They should read daily (quizzing at once a week at school).

Formal Written Methods
In Year 5 and 6, the children should be well practiced in the formal written methods for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division (column and bus stop). This is built upon to move into further columns and long division. If you would like to support your child with this at home, please take a look at our calculation policy to see how we teach them at school.

TTRockStars Day
On Friday 20th September, we took part in a TTRockStars day. We played lots of Maths games all to do with multiplication, factors and multiples. The children will be using TTRockStars to practise their times tables which are the foundations of many Maths concepts. Each week, they will have homework set of a number of games to play. Times tables are tested weekly and children will progress through the Times Tables Olympics.
