Our curriculum intent
Our school curriculum provides our pupils with a sense of belonging.
We create a sense of belonging to our school.
We develop a sense of belonging to our local community.
We discover a sense of belonging to the wider world.
This links to our school mission statement ‘One Family Together We Shine’ which is underpinned by the scripture of ‘The Lost Sheep’ (John 1:1).
MFL curriculum intent:
Our curriculum intent is to inspire children’s curiosity and to deepen their understanding of the world through a quality languages education. The skills, knowledge and understanding gained through learning a language contribute to the development of children’s oracy and literacy and to their understanding of their own culture and those of others.
At Norton Fitzwarren Church School, we teach French across Key Stage 2. We use 'Language Angels' scheme of work to support the teaching and learning of French. This provides clear progression for the development of speaking and listening and vocabulary acquisition. There are resources to support the teaching and learning opportunities for our children.
