Happy New Year

Welcome back to the Spring term.  We hope you all enjoyed your Christmas break.

Sports Festival

Year 4 had a fantastic time at Blackbrook Pavilion today taking part in the Net and Wall festival alongside other local schools.

They all joined in brilliantly and represented the school with amazing manners.  Well done WIllow & Maple.

This week we have been working on our editing skills. The children have been proofreading their writing for any missed spellings or punctuation and looking to improve their word choices. We have also been peer editing and looking at each other’s work.

This week the children have been reading stories about dragons.  We used the musical instruments to make the sound of a dragon’s roar!

Viking visit

The children had a fantastic morning with our VIking visitor Bjorn Magnusson.  The children learned about the viking longboats, Viking life and some of the Viking Gods.  They enjoyed dressing up and joining to act out roles. We all had a great time.

Maths- Place Value September 2018

The children have enjoyed using the place value arrow cards to consolidate their understanding of 4 digit numbers this week.

Spellings Autumn 2018

Here are the spellings for this term. Your child will be given their new spellings every Tuesday and should practise them at home.  If they want to do it in a different format than on the sheet they bring home, that is fine, the important thing is that they practise!  They will have a week and will then be tested on the following Tuesday.
