Welcome to Pine Class' page! We are taught by Miss Chester and supported by Miss Cobb.  Mrs Bullock teaches us on Tuesday afternoons.  Please visit our page regularly to see the exciting things we have been doing.

Please have a look at our Summer B Curriculum Newsletter to see what we are learning about this term:

Here are some of our finished cars:

We created cars by drawing and printing out a net, cutting folding and making holes, and then adding the wheels. We wrote instructions to go with our cars.

We learnt about How to stay healthy on the Life Bus with Harrold the giraffe

We created bicycle art for our "Norton on Wheels" wow day to begin our topic.

Mrs Armitage had an unfortunate crash in our playground when she was delivering her story "Mrs Armitage on Wheels" to us.

On Friday the 13th of March the children learnt about road safety. They had lots of fun but also learnt some important lessons. They wanted to share with you what they learnt about booster seats; If your child is under 12 years old or under 135cm tall they should still be sitting on a booster seat in the car. All of the children in Pine class are below this height. They are only only £10 to buy but you could get fined £100 if your child does not have one. Please use the fantastic hats your child was given so that they can be seen on the road. Miss Cobb even got locked in a police van!

We have been scientists this term in Pine Class. We grew cress in different conditions and predicted what would happen. We put some in the cupboard, some in the fridge, some had no water and the other one had no soil! We made sure we grew some in good conditions so we could try it too. It was surprising how tall the one with no light grew!

We painted and sprinkled with Indian spices and tasted Indian food to finish of our Incredible India topic. We had lots of fun.

We had a fantastic Intra Sports Day in which the children competed in their colour teams playing a version of netball, but rolling the ball instead.

We created tiger and elephant masks because we have been learning about animals from India. We have also been reading the story of The Tiger's Child.

In maths we created 3D shapes using sticks and sweets and talked about their properties.

During the week before Christmas we were very busy. We made peg angels in Design and Technology:

We made snowman clocks to count down the days until Christmas as we were learning about time in maths.
